About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Splunk Administrator to join our team. In this fully remote, customer-facing role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Splunk environments for our clients, with a strong emphasis on data onboarding and ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations. As a subject matter expert, you'll guide clients in best practices for data integration, search optimization, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Splunk data onboarding for our clients, including planning, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure client compliance with security policies and best practices, including OMB M-21-31 requirements.
  • Manage and maintain Splunk environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Develop and implement data onboarding strategies for clients, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Splunk apps, dashboards, and alerts based on client needs.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their data requirements and provide customized Splunk solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on Splunk best practices.
  • Automate tasks and processes using scripting languages such as BASH or Python.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Splunk features and updates and proactively recommend improvements to client environments.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of Splunk configurations, processes, and procedures for each client.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding project status, technical issues, and solutions.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Splunk Administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Experience with compliance requirements, particularly OMB M-21-31.
  • Splunk Enterprise OR Splunk Cloud Administrator Certification.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Data Onboarding in Splunk

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Splunk architecture, components, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining Splunk search processing language (SPL) queries, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Experience with data onboarding techniques, including data parsing, transformation, and indexing.
  • Experience with scripting languages (BASH or Python) for automation and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients.
  • Experience with other security tools and technologies.

Salary Range Estimates

$120k/yr - $130k/yr represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Rhombic's total compensation package for employees.
